Red Moon Rounder
Cool and Calming Wind
Driving around for hours
With no place to go
I'm breathing in the sun
Through my window
When I left the night it was sober
And the highway drank me in
Now I'm fleeing like a bird
In a subtle wind
I sailed into the ocean
And fell down in a swoon
Then washed upon the shore
Of a sturgeon moon
Then I sank into a valley
I was desperate for the cold
In the fading light I heard
A distant crow
And then the cool and calming wind
Blew me back again
To a late September night
In Michigan
I dried up in the desert
Afraid of losing hope
When beneath the cracks I found
A buried soul
So I carried it to the mountain
We climbed up to the sky
When it opened up its wings
We began to fly
And then the cool and calming wind
Blew me back again
To a late September night
In Michigan
We flew out to the edge of the world
To see how far I'd go
We were breaking in the spring
Like a drifting floe
When we caught up with the morning
It was face down in a field
And I let that buried soul
Free in the weald
And then the cool and calming wind
Blew me back again
To a late September night
In Michigan
Yea the Cool and calming wind
Blew me back again
To a late September night
In Michigan
And then the cool and calming wind
Blew me back again
To a late September night
In Michigan
